Last night on TMC there was a classic from 1934 called The Scarlet Empress. It was based on Catherine the second of Russia. It starts her as a young nieve girl and throws her into the Russian court. It was shot in b/w and had a creepy aspect to it but, the gothic props in Russia was well worth sitting through the movie. It had great ghoul, morbid furniture, and crazy bishop type monster mud figures. If anyone gets a chance to watch it, you will definitely get some super ideas.
