Going to purchase a vent motor for breathing grave but I'm trying to find the right power supply for it. I need to find out what to buy voltage wise and where it buy it. Electronic Goldmine could not help me out so anyone got any ideas as to who to contact?

The 12v one? I seem to be throwing this link around a lot lately. I have no connection to Parts Express... in fact I hate them because I can't seem to order from their website without buying a few dozen things that I didn't know I needed until I saw them

Those gearmotors only require a few dozen milliamps to run so this should be perfect for running that plus any LEDs, etc, you want to put in your prop. I converted an ATX supply last year which will give you dozens of amps but even 2 amps is plenty for many motors out there (just keep an eye on the amperage required so you don't go over it and burn out the power supply)

I find the wall warts rated at 12VDC with 500 milliamps (or higher) work fine for most of the animated props I've built.

Please PM the link to the motor or they will be gone. Someone that's either a member of the forum or reads it is buying up.. ALL ...EVERYONE...EVERY LAST ONE...of the vent motors just as soon as we post a new link to them.
Once the vent motors are gone....THEY'RE GONE, no one is making them any longer. The person buying the motors bought the last 150 from The Surplus Center and I was trying to get a group buy price from Electronic Goldmine and the same person bought them out.....around 1200....yes 1200 of the motors.
So I can grantee that once a link hits this board those motors will be gone. I hate to think we have greedy people like that on this forum but I guess we have at least one...or maybe he/she is just a reader. I hope that's the case.
Screaming Demons I will PM you

Try your local thrift store (Goodwill or like), probably find one for $1 or less
Look for OUTPUT...12vdc and at least 400mA dose not matter if it's a higher number the motor will only pull what it needs. Also if you see one with 1A (amp) or higher that will work . A amp is 1000 mA.
If you have any old electronics (printers...toys, game systems) you probably already have one that will work.
If that fails then this one is what you need http://www.goldmine-elec-products.co...?number=G17259

Why are vent motors the motor of choice? Won't any electric motor work? I have a motor I pulled out of an old dryer that I was throwing away. I haven't found a use for it yet but maybe a breathing grave would be the idea.
A short drop and a sudden stop.

I just checked my supplier's website and they have 54 left. PM me and I will give you the address; and if they all disappear the next day I'll slap ya in irons!

Edit: $9.00 ea.Nostalgia isn't what it used to be...

I found a place that has them for $19.95. By the time you pay that much it's worthwhile to look at other options.
