So I'm recording audio for my scarecrow to speak, and I'm totally dead in the water as far as what to have it say. I've got a few, but looking for ideas.
As people approach, it will do a few things... head will raise, eyes will light, sounds will happen, and sometimes it will speak. Some phrases I have so far:
"I feed on your fear and tonight, I feast!"
"I can smell your fear"
and
"The smell if your fear is intoxicating"
I want creepy stuff like that. But I'm not that creative
Any thoughts on short sayings? I'd like about 10 total.
Oh, here's one I made and uploaded to youtube to show off
Love some of those. He's actually going to be highly animated. The head is, at rest, tilted forward and down, like it's hanging there. As people approach the head will raise, the head will alight from within, and the brow can furrow and it can make a sneer with it's 'lip'.
I actually found an app that I can integrate into my ipad, as well as the controller hardware for it, and basically make a soundboard for the thing. It'll have 2 modes... the first is automatic. It's set off by a motion sensor and/or laser tripwire, and does a random routine. The second mode will allow me to override it and control it manually. It's the manual control where I can have fun with it.
I'm planning on making a soundboard for it... Yes, no, maybe, I dont know, you're making me angry, etc... so kids can have a conversation with it.
The big 'scare' with it though is it's rigged to dive forward off it's pole and scream as it does so. Like that terrible vampire prop that spirit halloween has. It's the stupidest looking thing, and as I approached it in store to examine just how bad it is, I didnt see I stepped on the pressure pad, and it lunged forward, and I, at 36 years old and a veteran haunter, screamed like a 12 year old girl as it hurtled it's cheap plasticy goodness at me.
I couldnt possibly be more excited to finish the build. So far it's on the pole, the head is done, just need to get the mechanics in the head working (the head raising, and the servo's operating the brow and lip), get the shirt on it, and rig up the release and rewind mechanism for it. It's a LOT of work, but this is a centerpiece worthy of a $4000 prop sale if you ask me. Maybe I should go into business making this stuff? Nah, too much other stuff to do!
Thanks for the ideas all, keep them coming. And like I said - I want some more tame ideas to for when I turn kiddie mode on... no lunging, and cuter sayings...
