Mine are all in the 18-inch to 3-foot range. The goal is to get as many as you can from a sheet of foam. If you wanted to build more elaborate stones, you'd need more foam. That's the great part about our hobby - you can do things any way you'd like.

mine range from 15 to 30 inches wide and 24 to 40 inches tall

I simply go with what looks proportionate.
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.
