Thread: Pneumatic Banging Door how to???

Anybody ever construct a pneumatic system to simulate somebody trying to get out of a locked door? I have a shed that I want to use this in for when people walk by, to obviously scare them. Fright Props makes a Banging Door Kit for this exact scare but like most everything else out there, its a bit pricey and I'm sure its just a solenoid and cylinder set up attached to the door and some sort of base. Please let me know if you have any ideas or maybe even built one. Thanks! Here's Fright Props to get an idea of what I'm after. Theres a video of it if you scroll down on the website.

I made one out of a motor with an eccentric cam on it. I had a spring pulling the door open about an inch. It worked slick, put it on a pressure switch. Had it in basement of old house for a party walk through. Used to turn it on during the year and send my niece down there. It would scare S**t out of her. The door had a small window that i mounted a masked head on and had the light come on too. Mine only moved a little bit, not as much as that.

I haven't built one but it would basically just run off of a cylinder with a short throw(not sure what length), solenoid, the brackets to attach it to the door and the inside of your shed, trigger and a prop controller.

How about this: slamming doors concept

A wiper motor would work too.
