I just completed a fog chiller from GOTFOG .com I know that this is not the best forum to put this in, but since I am linking from my blog and that has links back to the original site that came up with the plan, I could not place it in the tutorial section. I will ask forgiveness now Besides this is more of a hands on perspective and ultimate ranking of the project on GOTFOG. Check it out if you are interested. http://wickedwaysproductions.blogspo...t-stirred.html

Feel lucky your in a climate where you can chill your fog. I live in the prairies of Canada and last year was my first attempt at chilling fog. I wasn't very sucessful, consdiering that it's already in the area of 10-15°C outside. So it makes chilling the fog an cooler than that difficult.

Since posting an inquiry about fog chillers, I've spent many hours perusing threads on this and other sites learning about them. There certainly is a difference of and vocal opinion as to best way to go. I'm trying to balance cost effective (since ive not even bought a fog machine yet) with production.

Given the dimensions of my yard and what I'm trying to do, I'm very tempted to run the drainage pipe and do it that way. If not, I think the larger trash can ones are more optimal but my very practical problem is how the hell to obscure the thing! So I'm undecided as of yet; the fortunate thing (and I can't believe I have reason to be grateful being in Houston during my tenth Halloween here, is that the temps are usually SO high that ANY chiller I choose should suffice acceptably. We'll see.

I have tried the 2 trash can mods and they were both not worth the time or effort.. After it makes it's rounds there is hardly any fog that comes out at all. They are a bitch to hide too.The one from GotFog is more easily concealed by far, and you can run a small pipe from it to direct it. I am really impressed with this mod. I hope to have some more videos up of it being using indoors and closer to the actual event. It takes a day to make ( 2 if you paint it) so plenty of time if you choose to go with this one! Good luck finding one that works for you.

I wonder if going with a ground fog formula

...might help? You have some really tough environmental challenges; maybe a ground-fog formula would be denser particles with more of a tendency to sink irrespective of temperature? I can't say for sure, this is just a thought I'm putting out for your consideration.....

You mention that it was hot and humid in a negative way. When using a chiller hotter the outside temp the better since it creates a large temp difference between the ambient outside temp and the air temp of the cilled fog. The bugger is when you are pushing chilled fog into ambient air that is at or below the temp of your fog. I has this problem the last two years here in Michigan. Outside air temp was 40 degress max which killed the low lying effect. Your chiller looks great!

Yeah I would consider trying it, in combination to my chiller we made last year. However, I'm not so big on ordering stuff online.. Well I would be just I got no credit card, paypal, etc. And nobody close enough to me that does. So I'm stuck with what I can find at Walmart (where I bought my fogger last year) or CCC (cheap Chinese crap) store like Halloween Distributors.
