    Hi guys and gals!
i've been lurking the forum for a while now and thanks to some very creative people here i get lots of great ideas for my Halloween party's!

now This year i am attempting to do a few animated props!
    my question is...

i have some power supplys from led tv's i think.. they are 12v 5a and i would like to hook them up to a windshield wiper motor. The question is how do you hook it up? I tested the motors with less powerfull wall warts to see where the speeds were. The power supply has only one wire. unlike the wall wart where there is a ground and power wire. So how would i go by to hook it up to the motor?

    Thanks for all the help!

They sell wiper motors and powersupplies and show how to hook them up. There are two different speed settings on the motor, depending how you hook it up to the 12v. Good luck!

There has to be some sort of ground. You can't have a power supply that has only a single wire. Without seeing the supply it's hard to tell, but there must be a ground (assume the line coming out is power) line. Is the supply a closed case, have you openned it to take a look inside?

You can pick up those quick disconnect wire fittings at any electrical store, but you will still need 2 wires for it to work. Open up the case and post some pictures and we can see if we can figure out which is the power supply.

I suspect if you were to cut the wire you would find two wires inside of it. A lot of electronics have two wires inside one smooth, round cord, because it's so very important for the cord behind the television to look good

What Xane said. I think if you cut the tip off you will find two separate wires inside the single obvious wire.
