Hey all. Well here we go again. Another season has began to fall on us and it is time to build. After a small break from the 2010 season We are off and running on 2011. Last season there was way to much going on in my life to focus a lot of time on a haunt. Now for most of the years gone by we have done a yard walk through with various props. Most of these have seen their time and have been given away or cut up to go into something else. This year we are going to do 1 large prop for a center piece with various other props to tie it in...

The center piece will be a train that has come to a sudden stop along a long since abandoned set of tracks that run through the bone yard. It seems the conductor has slapped on the binders a little to hard and nose dived the train into the track. The front wheels have broken off. The smoke stack has snapped and it seems there is a poor soul. (kicking legs) trapped underneath.

The story will take place between our conductor and a pumpkin that is in a patch just off to the side of where the train comes to a stop. They will do some back and forth semi comical chatter. There will be other props to go along with the scene. One of these will be a crossing sign. Another will be our coffin cruiser stalled across the tracks in front of the train. This is so much a work in progress. And to be honest, I am making it up as the build goes.

I do have to give huge credit to Socal Halloween. The inspiration for this prop came from there 2008 build. The train they did was amazing. Much of this build is coming from reference photos.

A little more rough in with the smoke stack broke and drive linkage for reference. Next is to move on to getting the wheels cut out. Oh, the size of the prop to this point is roughly 14 feet long by 7 or so feet high. The boiler is 4 feet around by eight feet long.More to come....

Well we got a little more done on the train. Not as much as I would of liked to on the account that i needed to get my pool drained and winterized before I got another 5 inches of water dumped into it today. Anyway. We built the front wheels for the train. They are cut out of different thickness styro. They are glued together along with a few screws.
