I'm lost. I've been watching some haunt crawl DVD's and have seen a window projection that I'd like to set up, but I don't know where to begin. There's an image of a giant eye in a window, blinking and looking around. I assume this is done with a projector but, like I said, I'm lost.Does anybody have any idea how to set something like this up? Or where to buy it? Or what I'm talking about?

Thanks tamster. That looks pretty good. The ones I saw were just the eye, but I like some of the additions they have. So, near as I can figure it, it goes something like this:
Step 1: Buy DVD
Step 2: Receive DVD
Step 3: .............
I don't know how to set something like this up (never seen it before). I'll have to search out some details when I have more time. Right now I've got to haul my carcass to work. No rest for the wicked eh?

you have to buy a projector and have a DVD player hooked up, the projector for good results should have at least 1000 lumins for a great picture. You can use a white sheet or black to cover the window, set up the projector in front of the sheet.

If a projector is not in the budget for the eye type dvd, you can always park a large tv in the window with a piece of black scrim in front of window. It wouldn't be as large as a projected eye, but pending the ize of the tv, you could have the eye without the big cost of a projector........just an option thought.....

Matter of fact you can use a splitter cable & run 2 tv in separate windows same level, & have a pair of eyes watching !
FYI - If your projecting, project onto a white thin sheet ( from the dollar store- thin white shower sheet ) & if you want to hide the white, hang a black scrim sheet between white sheet & window glass.

If it's eyes you want you should look at BigScream TV - http://lightformproductions.com/store.html Look at vol 4 & 5, the Terror Eyes DVD's. There's great tutorials on the site on how to set these up with just a TV if you don't have a projector, they even have sound tracks that go along with the eyes, and you can choose to display a single eyeball or a pair of eyeballs. I've split the video signal into 2 tv's in seperate rooms, each displaying a single eyeball and the effect is stellar! I own both the complete collection of Hallowindows and Bigscream TV DVD's and each has it's strong points and appropriate uses but for "roving eye" effect you definitely want the Terror Eyes DVD's!

Thank you all for the tips. That's why I like this place; everybody's so helpful and friendly. I'll have to figure out exactly what effect I want (i.e. 1 or 2 eyes) and work it out. I have a large window near the peak of the roof, so I was thinking just one BIG eye. Not sure it I'll be able to get past the "Eye of Sauron" effect though. Not sure if I want to, for that matter. Hmm .... decisions, decisions ....

I did this with the Terror Eyes DVD back in 2007. I used 2 12" TVs and a splitter in my Daughter's room on the 2nd floor. Covered the TVs with semi-transparent black cloth, put each in a different window, and ran it on a loop for the entire night. It looked good but would have looked a lot better with larger screens. It's a great visual effect.
You can also do something similar with the TV and a piece of plexiglass. I did that with a different Terror Eyes DVD in my Haunted House for the floating apparition effect. With a large TV it would look great in a window.Boo!
