My old inflatables wont fully inflate, leaking air possibly in the seams. No rips/holes and fully zippered. Looked this problem up before and found a thread about it with firm info on a clear spraypaint but now cannot find that page.

Im interested to know from those that do use a spray on their inflatables to tell me what kind? Others have tried tent spray protectants but that left a texture on the blow up and also added weight. :/ Not to mention it didnt help inflation issues.

Im in urgent need to find this info, I want to say it was Krylon plastic clear but am not sure. Looking for answers from tried and true methods, not unknown suggestions, ( because I dont want to ruin my inflatable with untried ideas and waste money on unnecessary product ) thanks

If you have an idea where the leak is, you can spray a little soapy water around and see where it starts bubbling.

My thought would be to use a clear patch used to fix vinyl pool inflatables, but I'm not sure that would stick to whatever big inflatables are. I don't see how clear spraypaint could work, unless it melts it together somehow. Maybe it was some kind of clear rubberized sealer.

I lost the link to a thread where someone sprays their inflatables and it seals them right up, it wasnt anything special. Im kicking myself for not writing the resolution down, I feel like it might have been the clear krylon spray for plastic, even though krylons faq doesnt reccommend.

    duct tape

    LOL

i dunno how a clear spray paint type thing would work. not saying it wouldnt but i dont see how (but we all knowmy mechanical abilitiesare slightly below that of the average 2 year old

last year my only inflatable got a hole on the bottom and i put duct tape on it. it worked, but im tired of it so doubt ill be pulling it out again.

take the time to find where the leak is and you can properly fix it.

ok my peeps, I know you mean well and all joking aside, this is a frustrating dilemma. I mentioned the tent stuff doesnt work, the black sealant definitely wont work :/ and unfortunately, the leak isnt a hole or repairable (stinkin patches :P).

The air is leaking out of the whole body of nylon. It happens with old and used inflatables due to weather stripping the protective finish off the nylon (a finish present at manufacturing) and then when you store it the heat doesnt bode well when they are wrinkled up in a box.

Im telling ya, there is an individual who successfully used a spray on their inflatables to seal the nylon. I am not able to find the page anymore. Dunno if it got removed or what but am pretty sure I came across it on another holiday forum or maybe an inflatable fansite. I think I came across someone on ebay who used spray and mentioned they treated the inflatable with it, but cannot find them either. This was all I came across in the past year.

Maybe someone elses Google-foo will be better than mine because I just cant find the info anymore

Oh, I had a jacket that this happened to. Yeah, you can find "weatherproofing" or "waterproofing" spray in the camping section of Walmart or in Sports Gander Bass Pro Mountain Authority Shop.

Here is a spray paint repair for an AeroBed.

You could probably save some money by spraying standard acrylic paint if you already have an airbrush or paint gun.
