I don't own any old-style wire coat hangers but need some for my Flying Crank Ghost. Haven't seen any in stores for years. Are there any U.S. chain store retailers that still carry them? Or can I purchase something similar to a wire coat hanger that will achieve the same purpose? When I've looked for coat hangers, I see either plastic ones or wood + solid metal bar ones. Nothing pliable.

Take a few shirts to the dry cleaners, that's how I've accumulated so many wire hangers.

I recycle mine in the metal bins at the dump. I'm not sure what other people do but you might want to ask around to see if you can get some.

I bought some at Wal-Mart a few years ago. Well, they had a little white paint/plastic coating on them, but otherwise...

I bought about 30 of them at Target last year when I built my FCG. They are the wire coat hangers with white plastic coating, they work great! The white color even helps to hide the wire inside the FCG...
btw my Avatar is that Crank Ghost...

This might sound odd, but try the butcher shop on your local grocery store. Those coats and aprons they wear are taken out to be laundered by a laundry service. When they are brought back into the stores, theyre on wire hangers. 9 times out of 10, those wire hangers end up getting thrown away. Ask the butcher for a handfull. Theyd probably be happy to give you free.
