Thread: Projection DVDs!?

I am in charged of my high school's haunted walk. I picked the theme "The Fear Factory" so any "fear" goes. We are planning on having a "bug" scene, and I would LOVE to use this projection. Only problem, it's kind of expensive Does anybody know where I could possibly find a cheaper version?

Also, does anybody know where I can find ANY relatively cheap projections? They would be great in the haunted walk. It would be GREATLY appreciated!

Ha, I was gonna link to this in your other thread, but I don't think it's quite what you're looking for. It's probably more cartoony and fun than what you're after, but it's cool.

The DVDs are $24ish, but the individual short downloads are pretty cheap...

It seems crazy that the one you link to is that pricy. I think anyone with a bit of talent in Flash could like bang together something "good enough" pretty quickly.

Haha thanks I'll look into it But yeah, it's insane how expensive it is! They are amazing projections but so pricey.

Ah! I just found www.hi-rezdesigns.com and they have amazing ones! I was on there last year but they are so much cheaper this year!

I cant find a projector, I mean I find them like on Ebay but then they run up the dollar amounts to 200 or so. Geeze do people still use these things?

Yes they get pricey...... I have many dvd effects i use, that most require a projector. This has been largely discussed many times on trying to fing a projector under $200. There are $100 & $150 unites, but they are low level & just don't work that well unless it's pitch black & short throw to a wall......

So even if you get a cheap dvd, the projector will run you..... & used ones be careful, bulb hrs are the most important on these. If it has high hrs & bulb blows on you after you get it.....new bulbs are $300 & up ! I have found good ones locally on craigslist for $200-300 that I can inspect & see the bulb hrs myself, but still an investment !

& yes Hi-Rez has some great DvD's that are better priced than others I have seen out there ( like bugs ) & some of them have additional physical interaction capabilities built into DVD if you build prop as it was intended to be used.
