I've made a "fallen angel" prop out of a $9 Wally-World skeleton and now it's time for the wings. I needed something sturdy but lightweight for the wings so I went with real turkey thighs, drumsticks, wings, chicken legs and wing bones.
I drilled holes into the ends, inserted wire rods and bonded them together with hot glue. Ill be "fleshing them out" within a day or two using the method below and will post more progress pics ASAP.

Completely agree - that's some hardcore ingenuity! That said, I'm curious how these hold up over time.

Looks great! Can't wait to see the finished prop.
BTW... Is this an indoor prop? If not, you're going to want to keep those up high away from any animals that may be looking for a meal.
Also, I would recommend using a 2-part epoxy to glue those together. Hot glue will probably work for a while, but may eventually fail.

It's surly going to be an indoor prop. BTW all bones were un-fleshed the old fashioned way (dinner) then boiled for further
un-fleshing and cartilage removal, oven baked to kill any bacteria, and several coats of sealer.
I'll be using Gorilla Glue 2 part epoxy for the final product.
