I have skinned my bucky now I am to the coloring stage. I am toying with the option of staining it or painting it or maybe both. On the paint side was kind of leaning towards an olive green In the picture the skull is untouched because I have a bucky lid. I want to know what you think. Also could you recommend a descent airbrush system?
Thanks

Do you have any shots of the Bucky lid attached the the skull? I was considering ordering up a few.
I'll put in a word in on airbrushes... I currently use Iwata airbrushes, also Pasche.. Pasche is a great entry level brush, and is a real workhose in the effects industry. Look into a VL-1, or , an H model for non-detail work. They have a new double action detail brush called the Talon which looks promising. Go Iwata brand if money is no object. Dick Blick, Jerrys Art-O-Rama, Coast Airbrush, TCP Global..all good sources for your needs. Compressors? Just get a small, (quiet one if possible) with a basic moisture trap...You only need about 50lbs of pressure for this kind of work...I work at about 35 lbs of pressure. Try and avoid Badger brand...just sayin... ive used most brands over the last 25 years, mine collect dust.
OH, and clean it, clean it, clean it, clean it.
You can do amazing things with just paint brushes and washes on these types of things as well. I usually start out by doing mostly brush work before I ever reach for an airbrush.
Your corpse is looking good..!
(That just sounds weird)

As Chop said, you can do well with just a brush.
I used to use my airbrush to corpsify, but it's faster, easier, and I believe looks better, using brushes. Cheaper, too!
I've also found that using a Bucky Lid without using Bucky Skins, (no longer made) results in a body corpsed in one style, while the head is done with a different look.
I say use the Lid on a skull for a good severed head prop, and corpsify the head on ol' Bucky the same way you did his body.
When you do the head, concentrate on what the features would look like at that stage of decomposition.
The features don't have to be perfect, it's a rotton corpse for cryin' out loud! Oh, and remember to add ears! Most people forget ears!
Corpsifying is probably my favorite prop build!
You're off to a very good start! Have fun with it!
