...i know this might be my first posting on the forum, but have run into an issue that i know someone on here has encountered before!.....how does one figure pivot points correctly?....i have built the coffin below and plan on using a piston to open the top door.....i know to follow the center line, but exactly how do you figure where point A and point B should be?!....also how do you figure how much stroke (LAUGHING IS "NOT" ALLOWED IN HELL!....OR IS IT?!) you need to raise the door completely open?!.....any help or hints would be greatly appreciated!.....plan on using bimba cylinders if that makes a difference!...

If you are using just using the cylinder
Extend it to its highest postion and mount it there. Just mark where the holes should be and drill them out. You may need another person to help mount the cylinders or use a brace.
If you mean linkage or an armuture it depends on the stroke and different factors. There is a 4 bar simultor that will give you the distances when the cylinder extends.
Four Bar Simulator
A four bar linkage is a piece of hardware used in prop building. It takes a little movement (such as from an air cylinder) and amplifies it and can change direction. This program is a four bar linkage simulator. It allows you to try different configurations and lengths to see the results without having to build multiple prototypes
