Hey everyone. My cheap base model target ($40) fogger died last year and I was unable to revive it. I am interested in getting a new one this year. I would like something better quality than the typical one from Target or Walmart, but dont want to spend a fortune either. Are the more expensive ones really better? Or are the more expensive target/walmart ($80) version ok? How much do I have to spend in order to get one that works well for years to come? Any suggestions on brands or features are appreciated. Also, are they all so loud? the one I had was really loud when it spit the fog out. I wasn't sure if the more expensive ones were also quieter? Thanks again in advance!

In this case i do believe the adage, "you get what you pay for" Some years ago i bought a Chauvet Volcano for about $150.00 and, with very little maintenance except for draining and proper storage, it still runs like the day i bought it. I'm glad i bought this model as it is very well made. I have several other cheaper models but, looking through the forms here, i'm just waiting for the failures to happen.......best of luck to you.

I recently read, read, read, read some more, fell asleep reading, woke up and did some searches so I could read again......... researched, reviewed, and memorized.
In the end I learned this: Foggers are just like Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge
Everyone has their favorite brand. Many people have come across lemons, no matter what the brand. All of them work if properly cared for (which drums up another thousand different opinions). Don't use crappy fog juice and you'll likely be ok. High end ones normally last longer and are far more quiet. Sometimes two small inexpensive units are better than one large unit, depending on how you wish to disperse the fog.
I just ordered a Chauvet 1800. It seems like I read a thousand comments on how badly they suck and it seems like I read another thousand about how great they are.
All I wanted was to have fog rolling down my sidewalk. I'm sure this will do the trick.
