Don't forget cats as well! Mine can smell them in a sealed box and will rip it to shreds to get at them

Expect to pick them up everyday, and they will not last very long. Mine lasted about two years. Of course i left them out for about a month each year. LOL

We had one that we kept up year round in the backyard (for whatever reason, i don't know haha.) Anyway, I live in NJ too so i know how the weather can be. However, this thing lasted about two years, fully intact, until one crazy storm completely wiped the feathers off. So it is possible for it to remain in one piece for a long time!

I had real crows attack my fake ones in my set up last year (here in VA)

Thanks everyone! I'll see if I can find something to seal them with. I already know I have to tie them down. Hopefully the 'locals' won't mind some friends during Halloween.

I pic the ones up from the dollar store for a buck a piece. That way if they get crappy I can just throw them away and get new. I live in New York and mine get rained and snowed on and they have held up pretty good.

I get cheap hair spray from the Dollar Tree and spray my crows and owls and have never had any problem. It seals them and I haven't lost any feathers either. Just let it dry thoroughly before handling them.
