WOW!!! That looks fantastic! Very, very nice! We made ours out of wood, but I might have to try my hand at this technique. I wanted to spread some dirt around the edges, but the wife nixed that idea, so I just used leaves.

I thought of doing something similar. I was planning on just dumping a bag or two of mulch around it to make it look like it was coming out of the ground.

Have you seen the tutorial for dirt which uses burlap, brown dye, spray adhesive, and some dirt?

I think if you did that selectively in the areas you needed to hide the most, it would work well.

That looks great - very realistic! If there's no other area of your yard (say in a garden) that you'd want to dig up, you could get some cheap potting soil, mix it with some leaves, and spread it around. Or you could maybe use black/dark mulch to spread around it? Good luck!

Looks great! All that detail must have taken awhile.
