I finally received my cheesecloth for my FCG & will be doing the ghost this weekend. I'm picking up my RIT after work tonight. How long does the cloth need to soak in the RIT or do I just need to dunk it & that'll be good? I know a dumb question but I'm just not sure.

I believe it's pretty much dunk it in so it's saturated, wring it out and hang it up to dry. No rinsing.

Me personally, I just fill a spray bottle with a half water half detergent solution and spray down the ghost once it's built. I used the black light to see where I needed to go over any dim spots and it was pretty fast with no worries about untangling cheesecloth after being soaked either...

(I use a dollar store knock-off Woolite detergent... it glows nice and bright, but RIT and the other stuff may be brighter)

I soaked my cheese cloth in a bucket with RIT for an hour or so, and then hung it to dry. I got pretty even coverage, but I like the spray bottle idea!! I may refresh my FCG just before H'ween using this technique. It takes no time to dry and do not put it in the dryer.

I also like the spray bottle idea. When I built mine I soaked the cheesecloth in a bucket over night. The next morning I then took the cheesecloth out of the solution, laid it out flat and let it dry. When I got home from work it was good to go...

I actually just put the RIT whitener in the washing machine and let it go on for 30 minutes, then I dried it. It got the nice tattered look doing both and I am able to still tatter it up more if I want. It also lights up really nice and just fine doing it that way. So no soaking in a bucket for me.
