I have a prop made from half of a manequin body, I would like make it appear to float (like a ghost) either up and down or back and forth like on a guide wire or something. Any ideas on how to do this????

Hi Karasel,
Appear to float where? Inside, outside? Here is a related thread, you can check out the pictures and it may give you some ideas:

Sounds kinda heavy if its a manequin. You could try wire but with that kind of weight it would have to be thick and then it would be visable. You may try a counterweight and pole system where the counterweight is just slightly heavier than your prop and gives the prop the illusion of floating effortlessly.
Like rxnb90 said alot of it depends on where it is to be set up. Inside or out, what weather conditions are, wind, etc.
Hope this helps, Marc V.

Adding to what Raven says -you could try fishing line. My neighbor is a big-time fisherman. He gave me some line last year to hang a spider, worked great. A Mannequin might be pretty heavy, but they make some strong fishing line too (imagine fishing for Swordfish). You don't have to go that strong, particularly if you support it from more than one line.
