I'm building a mausoleum for my yard haunt this year, an I wild just like to know of anyone has any tips? It is going to be on an angle. It is going to be 8' x 8' and 7' tall
I also have some questions:
-What should I put inside it?
-what color light should it be illuminated with?
-what name should it belong to?
-should I have a gate or door?
-should there be columns?
-what "accessories" or "decorations" should I put on it?? Like a gargoyle maybe?
Thanks!![]()

Im building one too. Yours is going to be larger. Im doing 6 foot high 4 feet deep. My plan for naming is Familial tomb. I saw them in new orleans done that way

Here was mine last year.

It is basically a 8x8 wood framed room. The walls were covered in black plastic covered by a thin layer of monster mud and then aged. The tombs were identical except for the names and dates. They aren't exactly to scale though. You would never be able to get a coffin in them but you don't notice. The sign at the top says "At Rest" but the name on the entryway was Haverghast. The lighting is just a single blue compact flourecent party bulb shining upward.
Mine was meant to look as though it's failing and crumbling. That is a grapevine in the corner (I liked the shadow it cast). You cant see it but the bottom right tomb is a little girl that was born and died on Halloween. There were dead flowers and an antique doll. And I stole the wrought iron from my garden to ad architecture. The entryway also had columns and funeral flowers and candles (think cathedral). My design isn't true to a real mausoleum but it was very effective.

Blue light is so much more moody. Inside I would do caskets in varying degrees of decay. A gate so guests can look inside. Columns give it a more aged look.
My 2 cents.
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.
