Hello! (yes i am new here and i am from sweden so i don't speak the best english, sorry for that)

For this halloween i would like to build my own coffin, i think it would be fun to scare my guests by jumping out of it at the party, haha. So. Is it hard/expensive? Someone that has done it please answer my question. I was thinking of very thin wood, i am just going to stand up in it, so it does not have to be strong. I don't weight that much either so it will not be a problem i think. I would be very thankful for help

Try http://scarefx.com/project_coffin.html They have plans for a toe-pitcher style coffin. My bro and I put one together in one afternoon... Not too difficult, and its inexpensive while also looking good.

You can do it, I made mine over 15 years ago with some luan plywood, scraps of pine and other scap wood long before they had tutorials on the internet. I would put the wood on the floor and lay down on it to get the dimensions right for me.

Sally always says she'll bury me in it someday.

Great, thanks. That will be very good to know when i am getting started. if i will do it, you see, i am 14 so it will be hard for me to make my parents think that it is a good idea to put a big humansized coffin in the livingroom... :/

I built a simple rectangle (with the split opening lid) from some old fence we were getting rid of. The old wood meant I didn't have to paint anything!

Your english is better than mine! I've built a coupld of caskets and it depends on the style you want. Check out my albums for a couple of each you may have in mind. My advise is build the frame as solid/thick and possible for the actors to keep from tearing it down. And then hang what ever you want onto the frame.
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.

Thanks for all the great tips
I will build it i think, but mum says i can only use plywood or something that i unfortunetely can not translate to english. haha. So it will not be strong or anything. The most important thing for this is that it will look good. And then ofc i will stand in it but as i said, i don't think that is a problem. More tips would be great.
