Well I finally got off my butt and finished my first prop of the year, this is my take on the Hi-reZdesigns Halloween FX DVD Paranormal Portraits . Not wanting to skimp (and a bit of luck on eBay) this unit is powered by a BrightSign HD2000 solid-state HD interactive video player. This portrait (completely self-enclosed) plays HD video to a 20” Acer LED monitor in a custom built 16x20 inch (display area) picture frame that is more than 24 inches wide and 28 inches in length complete with Plexiglas and matting. The video effects are stunning in person looking almost 3D, don’t be misled by what the HD camera caught, the images are crystal clear with no flickering or noticeable pixels. Because this is an interactive video player, I have plans on connecting it to a PIR sensor that will take it from “attract mode” to “scare mode”, I have done some testing and I have to tell you this is one fun video player.
Anyway, here are some images of the build as long with a video of it in action. Hope you all enjoy, this is personally going to be one of my favorite props this year.

WOW! that is really cool. Nice job on the frame. Does it have any problems with the brightness of the screen ruining the illusion? (AKA: "Glowing" picture)

No, no problem at all but be sure to turn your brightness and sharpness to its lowest possible setting. An additional measure that works wonders is to have a light shining down on it, this completely gets rid of any impression that it’s a monitor.

Love Hi-rez products. They make impressive professional effects almost effortless!
I guess if your going to go big, the HD monitor is a must huh? Kudos on the gilded Regal frame!
A perfect antique looking $200 frame! Works perfectly with the "Paranormal Portraits" DVD. Amazing, very detailed!

Awesome job with the portrait! Love it! I second the BrightSign HD2000. I got a used one on the cheap from eBay last year for my asylum door. They are a lot of fun to program.
