Does the hanger at the top of the skull come off?

yes most can come off other wise just cut it at the top.. if the top of the skull comes off there might be a nut or some harware at the bottom

When you unscrew the hanger you are then able to begin dissassmbly of Bucky. The hanger nut is what holds the pieces onto the spine support rod.

Older posts say to never remove that nut because it is a pain trying to squeeze bucky back down to reattach him. I've always been too afraid to try it

So based on what i'm reading, do most people keep that hanger on and hide it some how or take it off anyway?

If I'm going to corpse the bucky them I have just replaced the bulky hanger nut with a regular nut so it is not as noticable.

As far as being a pain to reattach the hanger nut, I have taken them off many times and never had too much trouble putting them back on.

I've taken my hanger and skull off. Were easy to put back on. If you start taking apart the spine I can see where that would be a prob. I leave my hanger on so if I want to corpse it I can just hang it up. I put a wig on mine so the hanger isn't seen.

The rod down Bucky's spine can bend under his own weight when it doesn't have the hanger (or a nut) attached. If the rod bends the threads on it will likely disappear into his skull and you will need to drill into his skull to reattach it.
