    Hey all,
I got a foam skull from Michael's that I really like, and it looks decent in the paint job, but it has seems and a stamped on number in the back. I have it going into a centerpiece I am making and want to make it look good. Any ideas on how to paint it a little more realistic?

Can you post a picture of it for reference?

Here you can see the seam across the front

And here you can see the number stamped on back

How about corpsifying it? It would definatley help the seam and stamped number issue and add a bit of realism as well. I have a corpse finger tutorial in this link but the principals can be applied to a skull just as easy.

    Corpse Finger

    Hope this helps, Marc V.

I really like what you have done in that tutorial, fact I used your technique last year! Unfortunately for me, I want to keep it basically a skull and nothing more due to what I am using it for. Appreciate the tip though.

Only other thing I can think of is to sand the seams and numbers off and repaint the whole thing with a bone color acrylic. After which I would raw sienna sludge wash the whole thing. Nice skull though. I may be heading to Michael's later

Yeah I think I would just take fine sand paper to it and repaint it
