We move alot. Last year, I had to get rid of my awesome wooden fence.

I am looking for a rustic fence. Pottery barn has a twig gate...something along those lines.

If you have any pics of your own creation and wouldn't mind posting, I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Not a great pic but you will get the idea. Made out of barn board.

That seems like a pretty cool idea, ala Blair Witch, but an awful lot of work. Not to mention a lot of stick gathering. I had a similar predicament last year when I needed about 45' of fence for my yard haunt cemetery.

I was going for a rustic wrought iron look. I ended up making 8' fence sections using 1x2's (the milled stuff) and 36" grade stakes (already pointed). I built the sections assembly line style with box nails, and painted them with cheap, buck-a-can gloss black spray paint. Total cost was around $70 and about 4 hours of labor.

I secure the sections to the ground by driving stakes at either end and fastening them with heavy duty zip ties. I close the ends with repair plates and a few screws. When it's time to take it up, remove some screws, cut some zip ties, and hang the sections on "L" hooks in the garage.

I had remembered seeing this post back in August but got distracted and forgot to post a reply. Maybe this could help somebody that is in need of a very cheap quick fence.. My redneck stick fence. I was only able to finish one section today before the rain set in. It only took about 20 mins for 1 person and 1 2 legged pup..lol... All you need are sticks of various sizes, zip strips, twine and however you choose to stand them up and secure them.(I will be using Yardgard steel posts)

See the $1.20 fence thread in the tutorial section. That sounds like its right up your alley.

so what i did here was sharpen the big branches, hammered them down, then tied the small branched to them.
