Hey Guys, I'm hard at work (when I get free time off work) on this year's Halloween party. The party is going to be in a large barn on the Ohio River... so what better to have as a centerpiece for the event than a large chandelier hanging luminously over all the guests! I'm constructing the chandelier out of a 2' piece of PVC for the core, and long pieces of hollow copper that go through the PVC for support. The finished product will have 24 flicker bulbs in 3 tiers, 8 lights in each tier. The whole thing will be paper mached with long moss and hot glue spiderwebs all over. Comments and suggestions are appreciated!!!! Thanks for looking...
I'm going to start adding to the bottom of this post so you don't have to go all the way to the end to see the progress... I painted the chandelier today 2 tones of grey, similiar to my tombstone routine. I haven't added the cups to the bases of the candles, and truthfully, that might not happen this year... maybe next unless I find some really fast way to incoorporate it. Here are some photos of the chandelier at twilight...

Looking great so far.
Kept this reference picture around if I ever get to making a chandelier. It's from the Haunted Mansion. Love the way the webs are draped on it like lace. They use Fuller's Earth the get that super dusty look to it:

Terra, that looks amazing! Definately some inspiration, and almost exactly the style I was going for. I looked up the Fuller's Earth... I'll have to see where I can get it from. Have any ideas?

Got some from Minion's Web: http://www.minionsweb.com/osStore/pr...nce-p-784.html
I think it's Fuller's Earth but they call it Spider Dust.

Ok, so I'm making progress on this thing.... currently, the candles are done... all 24 of them. I used hot glue for the dripping wax look, as many on the forum do. I spray painted them gloss white, but I think I will eventually stain them for a more aged look. The wiring is done, and it was actually more time consuming that I anticipated. I have a temporary plug on the end of the wire now until I get to Lowes to buy a better one. Here are some photos...

This is looking great! I wish I was skilled enough to wire up something like that! Probably would'nt have the patience even if I did! Love the candles already, and I do agree that a stain would look good, I usually use an off white paint to begin with.
Lets see....Magic, miniature horses, penguins, lacrosse, volleyball, and Halloween
.......what, you seem suprised?
