If you have ever tried to use VSA with DMX lights, you know that setting the brightness and colors are a bit difficult and time consuming because you pretty much have to create events with values for the colors and brightness and "play" them to see how they look. This can get really tedious so what helped me was JS-DMX software. I can move virtual sliders to get the right colors and brightness. Then jot down the values for each color and brightness and enter those directly into VSA events. This saved me a lot of time last year. DMX software is crazy expensive and this little program is FREE!

Here's what the interface looks like when setup to operate our stuff. You can see here I'm playing with sliders on channels 104 & up. You can also see above each slider, the DMX value for each slider. Those are the number I use to enter into VSA:

    Here's a link to their website: http://jsriddler.com/dmx.php

BTW I used the Beta version.

Mmmmm... yummy! This should make for some good color mixing tests. I also like that he's made the universe size configurable ("# of Active Channels to TX"). Smaller universes (total number of transmitted channels on the DMX lines) means faster updates. If he later adds any animation tools, this would let you have smoother animation / higher frame rates.
