The newly completed Fog Screen!!!
Its taken me the better part of 40+ hours and around $450 in parts, not including fogger or projector, but the things finally done (except for some tweaking).
Its 8ft long, uses 40 high-cfm fans (48v 200cfm) and 40 low-cfm fans (12v 32cfm). Runs off of both 48v and 12v, and weighs a good 120lbs. Just the 48v power supply weighs 150lbs O.o so not something quick to move haha. Its mainly constructed out of plywood, 1x2's, 2x2's, 1x4's, and various hardware supplies. Honeycomb is 1/2" open cell aluminum honeycomb (would have taken over 6k straws, so we decided to bite the bullet and get the real thing) and we have 1/8" open cell that we will still be testing soon. Fog is provided by a 2kw fogger for testing purposes, but will be done by two chauvet 1700's for the final product (if I get them working again)
Projector is a Infocus IN5104 4k lumen projector that I got in a road case for only $100 after shipping, and still sells for ~$3k. They sold it because it stopped working, but luckily I was able to fix it by resoldering just one part!So deals are out there, you just have to be willing to take the risk!
I think it turned out quite well! The video is much clearer, brighter, and more even, in person; I just had to film at weird angles for the camera not to catch the projector from behind and freak out lol.
Enjoy! Oh and Keep in mind the projections are 8'x6'
Videos and build log (enough images to complete the project if you really wanted... I even have plans on autocad I may release... but there is possible plans to sell this through a haunt website so until that is decided I cant post the schematics): (click on images to get taken to the video)
Thanks for looking!I'm proud of my baby!

Have you tested it enough to be able to give us a estimate on how much fog you expect to use....say for 30 minutes of use?
I love the effect.....don't love the cost of fog juice

Thanks everyone! Just testing it I've gone through a gallon fast. The chauvet 1700s say a liter of fluid every 7 minutes. But luckily I'm not running this all night, I'm doing a show/yard display and this will be a part of it every once in a while. Luckily I'm getting my rosco fluid for $30 a gallon instead of the usual $60 but that's still alot o. O
