has anyone done or thought about doing a theme of "13 ghosts" ?
i know its an old movie but i think its an awesome movie with LOTS of potential.
im thinking of doing it for next years theme and wondering if anyone else has done it and how did it turn out and what advice, tips and techniques you can give me.
i just ran across this link on how to make a jackel cage, so this is a start lol
as for the glass house i was maybe thinking of building them with clear plastic sheets for the glass and making a maze with them throughout the house. my house is actualy somewhat already a glass house, floor to ceiling window walls in the front and back of the house and also 2 sliding patio doors, so i thought the added "fake glass walls" maze would be fun.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a GREAT idea and one I've wanted to do from the start. I always thought that this movie would've been over the top if it had a better cast and writers.
Most kids probably won't know what this is so it will be a huge surprise, and if they do, its guaranteed that jackal running around will scare the crap out of them lol. And a glass maze would be amazing. I can imagine now, walking in the maze, and seeing the jackal all the way thru the glass on the other end running towards you and banging on the glass!! Ooohhhh maaaaannn the anticipation will be intense in that maze! Can't wait to see this one.
On another note, that cage is ridiculous! I can't believe he made that with strips of foam board! I didn't know they made them that thin. Really cool! Good luck and keep us posted! Im subscribing to this one

Of course you need half the lawyer in the middle of the room.

I could totally see (if you have lots of money anyway) getting some large plexiglass and doing the illuminated script and have it lit with LEDs so it glowed just like the movies...
The costumes would be the best tho. I thought I remembered several someones doing the Jackal costume so I did a search for Jackal:
Jackal is alive in 2009I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002
Where there is no imagination there is no horror.

I love the movie 13 Ghosts, but I think we're talking about different versions, because I don't recognize anything you mention!
The one I know was 1960 black and white and had Margaret Hamilton and Martin Milner. No? hmmm...Dear Sweet Leota, Beloved By All. In Regions Beyond Now But Having a Ball...

Get a load of glasses for people to wear and show an intro clip from the movie about the glasses. Ive done this theme years ago and turned out amazing was going to do it again this year but was short on time. What I did was used large rolls of plastic pallet wrap spray painted the scripts with glow in the dark white paint.

The clear vinyl from Walmart fabric section (larger stores) or Joann (coupons are a must) would be easier to work with and pull taut to create a fake window. Too bad real plexi is so expensive. I believe the scripts on the panes in the movie were not etched, but actually translucent frosted vinyl applied to plexi. Personally I would have sandblasted for the effect.

This is one of my FAVORITE cheesy horror movies. I actually own the old B&W and the remake. I think my attraction to the remake was the ghosts, not the whole storyline but the costumes and characters.
The cage turned ot great BTW.
