These are stones I made 3 years ago and ones I bought. I wanted to add a little more realism to my Yardhaunt. I added 2 layers of 3/4'' Foam to the backs of the stones. I used the old stone as a form for the 2 layers I cut out of the 3/4'' foam. When cutting the layers give your self 1/4'' extra on both sides and top, so when they are glued you can sand them down on the edges to blend with the original stone size. I cut 2 1'' channels 12'' long and 8'' apart and put 2 pcs of 1/2''pvc pipes 12'' long in the first layer of foam. I used Loctite foam glue. I glued the first layer to the old stone with the 1/2'' pvc. I glued the second 3/4'' foam to the first layer. I used 2'' long, wide thread sheet rock screws to keep the foam layers in place until the glue drys about 24 hrs. Put something heavy on the foam ot make a better bond. Remove the screws after the glue dries. Sand the edges of the stones to match the original shape of the old stones. Fill holes of screws and the separation of edges on the foam layers with wood filler. This is the time to add names dates and epitaph to your stones. On the store bought stones I applied applique of 1/4''foam with name, dates and epitaph over the Large R.I.P. or skulls busting through, on the store bought stones. I sand them down and glue the applique over them. I paint the stone with Drylock grey. Remenber Home Depot, Lowes will tint this, if the grey is to light for you. I do 2 coats of Drylock. I live in Ga with high humidity and the old stones build a black mold or stain, so I use a black paint tea stain on them. I hope this helps.

Those look great & love the remote control one, LOL.

Can you please post a pic of the back of the ones you added pipe to for putting over rebar? I need to do that to some of my larger tombstones. Thanks.
