I was wondering if any of you tech guru's out there had thought to or used a piezo transduser as a cheap easy stepping prop trigger?

I've used these to replace my son's Rock Band drum triggers and they worked better than the factory ones. Once you carefully peel away the plasic case these things are waffer thin.

Thoughts?
