Thread: Help!Got a question about Honky the Clown

Hi, I'm a bit confused, I ordered Honky the Clown from HautedProps July 3rd, saying on their site will be shipped in July. I had been emailing a few times with them on the status of the prop. Last week they told me the company where they get it from told them the shipment will be in this week. Now I am told not until Aug. 23rd and that there is only one source where you get this prop and no one else has this prop yet. I also been putting my email to other sites to have me notified when their Honky the Clown comes in, as of yet no nofication. Then I came across HorrorDome site who says it is in stock???

Anyone else purchased Honky? I just emailed HorrorDome, as I am not trusting they actually have it where no one else has them in stock.

Does anyone have information that HorrorDome would actually have this prop?

sorry I'm being pesty, bumping this up, is HorrorDome in this HF? Or anyone that has info on the clown.

It's a sneak peek, so they may not have them stocked yet, but it wouldn't hurt to check out their site to see...

I don't believe HorrorDome is a member here (doesn't sound familiar) but there was a discussion of HauntedProps here:

I can only hope that they worked out their growing pains from a few years ago, but just so you know, they had a reputation for getting overloaded and backlogged...

I think all these come from Tekky Toys, the wholesaler...I don't think any "retailer" has these yet. "In stock" may mean they have a "preorder" quantity from the wholesaler...you place the order, then the retailer will subtract that quantity from their inventory, but not actually have the item to ship. (at least in my experience)

is it common that the retailer does a preorder also charges you even though the item is not in stock yet? because HauntedProps site has it there and it went through as being paid by paypal. I only found out it was not in stock yet when I emailed them wondering where it is.

I was told by the distributor of this prop (it's not Tekky) that it should be in-stock in about a week or so. I think it's one thing if a site makes it clear that you are pre-ordering something, but I think it's bad business to make it look like an item is available, take someone's money, and then just let them wait for weeks with no product. We don't take pre-orders at all for this reason.

that is exactly how I thought, most of the sites do exactly what you Halloween Asylum do, "coming soon or not in stock" the nice thing is being able to put your email addy and be notified when it comes in. The only two that don't do that is The HorrorDome & Haunted Props.

Also Halloween Asylum, I was told that it would be in this week when I emailed about the status of this prop last July 29th. Like I said in the beginning, after once again emailing (today).......now the date has changed to August 23rd, you might have to check to see if yours will come in a week or so.
