I got this lot of foam yesterday free (although it was an 80 mile round trip!). Any ideas what I can do with it? I have a fair number of gravestones already and this stuff doesn't carve as well as the blue/pink foam so looking to do something else with it.
There's a load more of this stuff going spare (about 3 times as much) but not a lot of point in getting it if I can't think of something to do with it all!
And if you're wondering why it's still in the car - I haven't told the wife yet so haven't unloaded it.

You and me both, friend!
I have a shed full of the same oddly sized shaped styrafoam myself.
Unfortunately, other than tombstones I can't think of much else.
As far as cutting them up i'd try to get something like this for 10 to 20 dollars:

The heated wand will allow you to carve with ease and little mess.
I tried cutting those thick slices with a saw and it was not fun.

Veneer stones or brick to be glue onto plywood walls. Would make a great crypt.

I was just looking at that one on Amazon & it got terrible reviews, is there another one anyone would recommend?

Maybe just get a soldering iron and wrap some thin, stiff (piano?) wire around it (or unscrew the tip and figure out a way to stuff it into the hole so it doesn't fall out).

Thanks for the replies. I use a hot wire cutter I made to cut the foam down to more manageable sizes. I could use a saw but it makes such a mess - although you wanna see the mess I made today anyway!
As I love pumpkins, and have tried various methods of making my own (with varying degrees of success) thought I'd try and make some out of this foam. Well I have to say that I'm very pleased with the outcome. I made two today and will post pics tomorrow.
Having tried several different methods, this is the quickest way I've found to make pumpkins and the bonus is they are of course waterproof already!
I may also make some cemetary pillars but what else?'Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few.’ Winston Churchill - Battle of Britain 1940.

Ooh, some good ideas there madmax - Love the last 2 pics. I do LOVE working with foam too - that's what a lot of the theme parks use for their scenery. I spend a lot of time walking round theme parks looking at the scenery & props, whereas the wife and kids just love going on the rides.

I have a huge pile too. Mine were used as walls in a local haunted house so they are already painted with a heavy sand based paint...it looks like they burned or ate away the surface on them too so they are no longer smooth. Some of the panels I didn't bring home were carved into very cool brick walls. I always thought they would look neat having a skeleton chained to them or put 2 together to make a free standing "corner" and add a trashcan trauma, some skids, trash and a couple rats.
