Hello All, i am building wall panels for my haunt this year but dont know what to do to hold the walls together. id like something thats is sturdy and does minimal damage to the walls so i can use them year after year. How do you hold your wall panels together?

I use carriage bolts and wing nuts on mine. Easy on/off and works well.

i was thinking of doing that didnt think about the wing nut though, how sturdy are the walls? im using 2x2's with either some kind of wall paneling or foamular. i was also thinking of using coffin locks but those are a little expensive.

I frame mine using 2x3's and covered in osb. They are fastened together using 3 carriage bolts. I have a 12 foot castle facade across my drive and a 20 foot wall section across my back patio. Very sturdy.

I was building 2x2 framed walls today and just planned on screwing them together but I will be watching here to see what other ideas come about.

I like the bolting them together idea but the 2x2 doesn't allow for much room and some of my walls will be finished on both sides.

After bolting or screwing them together, you can also brace them across the top with long overlapping boards. If you're doing a maze ideally you would cross brace them against each other or tie them into outside walls but that isn't always possible. Depending on where you are setting them up, you may also be able to attach them to the ground as well. I have seen this done as simply as extending a few short boards out from the bottom with some sandbags sitting on them.

Use door hinges, mount them to the backside of the 2x2 one towards the top and one near the bottom. then just fit them together and slip in the pin.

I used to work in theater and when we wanted to combine several flats (thin frames with a painted canvas facade) we use casket locks
