Howdy folks! I havent made very many posts, but i hope to up that alot! Last year I took someones idea and made a toe pincher coffin out of old weathered pallets, which rocks. I also made a toe pincher coffin ice chest out of some cheap ply wood, foam insulation and plastic sheeting.

My girlfriend and I host a Halloween party every year. This year, our brainstorming has gone off the charts and I hope to document some of our creations here!

Rough outline: We have a covered porch out front, which will be closed in with plastic wrap, then we plan on making a small grave yard scene in one corner, and in another corner having a small table set up with the invisible man playing poker and drinking with the headless horseman. Its tough to picture just with words but the idea is pretty epic.

The living room is our torture chamber, which bloody sheets over the furniture, and some weapons/chains/torture devices hung from the floor/ceiling, etc.

The kitchen/dining area is going to have all the food, and set up like a mad scientists lab, with beakers, jars.

The basement is going to take the most work, and will be amazing if it comes out as planned (we're starting this weekend on it, as it'll probably be expensive and seriously time consuming). We're going to build a mausoleum down there. I plan on finding cheap foam boards for false walls that we can carve drawers into, some of them we're planning on building os they're partway open to see some of my skeleton parts sitting inside rotting.

I'm sorry there are no pictures yet. I was hoping possibly people would pitch in with some other ideas that might fit the general theme, or link me to some helpful other threads. I'm handy, but not "artistic". As things start to come together , or i run into snags, i plan on updating and crying for help

The last few weeks have gone by slowly, as we've been mostly in the planning stages, but this past week has finally seen some progress! Found a guy on craigslist with foam board insulation for $5 per 4x8 sheet. Unfortunately its the white beady stuff but for the price, I had to take it. This afternoon I began to cut it up and rough frame a few pieces out with tape just to see what i'd be dealing with in terms of building a false wall. The construction and carving/details are going to take a while as no one in my house is very artistic, so I decided to start as early as possible.

I purchased one of those heated styrofoam cutters from joanns today, but so far i'm not fully impressed with it. Maybe I'm being too hopeful, but for cutting these 2" thick boards to shape , it would take hours. Maybe once I get down to the smaller details it will be a little more useful? Here are a couple of quick pictures of the tiny bit of progress made today.
