Thread: Giant Monster Hands?

I would greatly appreciate it if someone had a good easy way to make giant monster hands. I'm making a 10 ft stalk around and need hands for it. Any tutorials or links? Ive already checked out hauntproject and monsterlist

try builing a wire frame for the hands and coating in greats tuff foam. you can carve them to the shape you want but a raw finish will be blobby looking

I am building a 10ft reaper, and I used hangers for wire, I cut in lenghts of 20" (pointer finger) 24" (the longest finger) 22" (next to the baby finger) 18 " (baby finger) 16" (thumb). I cut 4-5" square (4" W x 4" L ) out of cardboard for it's palm. I wrapped each finger in newspaper and taped it around it . Build up the palm area with balls of newpaper and taped it all around so the top of the hand kind of curved. I paper mached the whole hand. The great thing is you can always reshape your hands, bend it however you want it to look

very malicious looking lol... I guess I was a little late with the help. How "posable" are the hands?

you also could carve them from blue or pint foam.

I made some using newspaper rolled up and then duct taped them in the position I wanted. Then I covered them with great stuff foam. But now I would use paper mache clay instead of great stuff.

very posable......I bent the wires many ways to be sure I got the look I wanted, the coat hanger wire is my best guess, not too thick though. I am attaching the hands to a pvc body.

WOOOOOW i would love to see the giant on the other end of that hand
