Hello Everyone! Hope your making great progress on your Halloween Props.

I am working on putting in a vortex tunnel for this year's walk.

I remember reading about a great laser for sale that was under $20 but I can't remember which store.

Also-any advice on length of the tunnel?

    Thanks In advance-

I built my tunnel about two years ago. I'm happy with it. It took a while to build and it was a bit expensive, but it looks great. Here is an early image of it:

You should not buy pen lasers. They are way too expensive. I used 50 smaller lasers. Just buy the pre-wired diodes. I think I paid about $1 or $1.50 each. Here is a link to a similar model:

As far as length there are several factors to consider:

    1) How much room do you have?
    2) Will it be indoors? I do recommend this. I had mine in an enclosed tarp tent. The wind was a nightmare. You will need to use fog to illuminate the lasers.
    3) Construction quality. Although the lasers look straight they actually have minor differences in the mounting positions. Over a distance the angles begin to show. Mine looks good up to about 25 feet.

Here is a photo of it in action:

    I hops this helps.

This pic is the most bad-ass thing I've seen in a while! Very cool!

    How is it powered?

Does anybody worry about the little TOTers looking into the laser and blinding themselves? I thought that was a concern with even low power lasers.

Lasers are funny thing. They look powerful, but really use very little power. All 50 lasers are powered off (4) "C" batteries. I have one on/off switch for the whole thing.

Thanks a bunch. The laser is awesome! But....I was looking for the design where you have the spinning mirror and one green laser light.

    Does it hurt the eyes?
