Hi everyone, got a bit of a dilema, since I am doing halloween at friend's house, she has this beautiful piano that once you open the front door you see it as a focus. What I'm wondering is what did you use to make it look like an organ with pipes above, I don't wanna mark the piano but it would be great if I can do this. Any suggestions and/or pictures would help me tremediously
I have a pic to show what have in mind

to make the pipes you could:
A. Use hollow bamboo
B use pvc and paint it copper (that would take a lot of work)
C. Brass piping
I don't know how they added a 2nd row to the piano, thoughCreepy.

I was thinking something light weight as her piano is an antique and had it given to her. I was thinking pool noodles, but thought they fall over

I have an idea! Kinda like a giant over the door clothes hanger. You could make it out of plywood. Kinda like this quickie diagram I drew with Paint.

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

You could use PVC pipe or cardboard mailing tubes to make the pipe. Cardboard would be a little lighter.

Once you cut the pool noodles to the shape of all the pipes in your photo and painted them, you could glue them all together...That would give them enough of a base that they wouldn't fall over.....ZR

What style of piano are you starting with, tamster? Upright, console, spinet? I've cut some PVC pipe for organ pipes before. A little tedious, but it looks good and takes spraypaint well. Screw them to a wood base (sort of an upside down T shape) that you can rest on top of the piano (at least for for spinets and consoles) then safely clamp to the backside of the piano so it won't fall over.

I built a "piano topper" out of wood and PVC. I place non-skid rubberized shelf liner between the organ addition and the piano so I don't scratch the finish. The stain was off a bit, but under party lighting it is not noticeable. The bottom section is hollow and open to the back, so I can place stereo speakers in it. The sound seems like it originates from the pipes, but is bouncing off the wall behind the organ.
