Thread: Perpetually Bleeding Corpse

Hey,

We are putting on a Shakespeare themed haunt his year and I was hoping to recreate the scene where Caesar is murdered. What I really want is to have a corpse that is constantly and violently bleeding from 33 stab wounds (or there about). My idea is to use a fountain pump we have used in the past with a manifold system to increase the number of outlets...has anyone tried something similar that might help me engineer this? Thanks!

I'm only 17 but I've put in several water features as a part time job...what your talking about should work depending on how big the pump is. It might work better to pump the fluid to it's highest point before it enters the manifold system and then let gravity aid in dispersing the water to avoid losing pressure...good luck!!

Also on thinking of the costume and the cloth absorbtion you may end up with just a big red tunic rather than blood trails. Consider saturating the cloth with Camp Dry or some sort of cloth water repelent.

Use your fountain pump with the manifold to get most of the wounds oozing blood and use a couple DC windshield wiper pumps to get (cheap from junkyard and about the size of a roll of quarters) the violent squirting look from a few of them.

Hook up a turn signal flasher fuse to (couple bucks walmart) to the windshield wiper pumps and you will get a pulsing effect to the blood squirting out.

Do you have a more detailed tutorial? Or know where one is? I could use the pulsing effect, but have never worked with windshield wiper pumps/fuses. I can, however, follow instructions, especially when there are pictures

I'm sure I have a old picture of it some where. I will look and see if I can find it and I also will do a video how to on it later this week (if I don't forget).

Please don't forget. I don't plan on building one, but I'm intensively curious as to how to build something like that.

It really is very simple to do. I did find a older photo of the fuse and a photo of the pump in action but this was 2005 and when a lot of people still had dial up so I used small file pictures and picture is too small to really see it .

someone rcently did a bleeding bird bath fountain on here. its the same thing. all your doing is sticking it in a corpse instead of behind a birdfountain. picture the chest of the corpse as a bucket but have blood come out all over for stab wounds and it will funnel back up.

It would be great if you could put a how to video up. Looks like I'm not the only one interested in doing this.
