After hearing from my parents that tombsones is wear my success is. They recommend i start selling them on the side for profit. i have some extra time in the season between now and school for a few custom orders but wondering if people would even be interested in buying tombstones from someone. i would let people show me a design and a name and what they want on it and what not. I would also sell reasonably. If anyone is intersted i can show pics and also you can p for more details. This isnt a sales pitch i just havent seen to many people trying to sell tombstones?
Thanks,
Chris

That's going to be a hard market to sell....By the time you figure in your material/shipping cost, it doesn't leave much room for labor fees/profit if you still want to be competetive with big name chains unless your willing to put the extra time in creating very detailed real looking stones...Even then your customer base is going to be limited to mostly pro based haunts because most of us home haunters will make it ourselves and save the $$....I personally think it would end up being more a labor of love than for profit....Just my opinion....ZR

I've made a few for other people. You really don't make much after your time is factored in. One thing I did was to mke several of them up and then set up a display at a local craft fair. I ended up getting orders for some and sold a few random ones I had made. Still though, it is not a lucrative business venture when all is said and done and I doubt I'll make props to sell anymore. It takes enough of my time to make things for myself.

My opinion is : Go for it!
If you don't do it, you'll always wonder if you should've. If it doesn't work out, then you can use them in your own yard. But, if it does work out, it'll be very rewarding and may lead to bigger & better things.
Make a bunch, throw them out in the yard in late Sept. with a For Sale sign and see what happens.
And Good Luck!
