I've seen the Harbor freight regulator item #90590 posted all over Halloween sites. But apparently they don't make that regulator anymore. (I called Harbor Freight and and Indian Guy was not very helpful). Does anyone know what the new item # is or a suggestion for another regulator?

    TIA

I have built several props with that regulator only to replace it that year or the next year. I would steer away from it for my opinion.

I switched to Campbell Hausfeld it's about $15 and has yet to fail on me

All I can do is post my personal experience with the PRESSURE regulators from Harbor Freight, Ive been using these regulators for about 4 years now, I have 7 pneumatic props and they run all Oct with easily several thousand activation's.

I have yet to have one fail on me, they regulate the pressure right where I set it and I have never had to go back and readjust them.

Harbor freight sold TWO regulators that look deceivingly similar (packaging was damn near identical), but only one of them was a PRESSURE regulator where the other one was just a flow regulator designed to help regulate the flow of air through a air sprayer.

I stopped into my local store today and noticed that they have done a MUCH better job with the packaging, the one you want is this one

    http://www.harborfreight.com/150-psi...uge-68223.html

it is packaged as an Air Compressor Regulator and sitting right next to it was one that was clearly packaged as a paint sprayer flow regulator.

Again, I have not torn the Regulator that you can buy at Harbor freight apart and compared the insides with another brand/make/model so I cant tell you how they compare in terms of quality of build, but all I can do is tell you that I have never yet had one of the Harbor freight regs fail on me and they are all going on 4-5 years this halloween.

Hellspawn, good to know. Maybe they changed suppliers, or I just had a bad batch.
I vote the cheaper avenue until one fails on you.

Again we all just try to help out with our personal experience for what does/doesn't work.

Thanks for the replies. I had bought that one from Harbor freight just because it looked right, but now I know. Now to just start hooking things up.

Habor Frieght "phased out" the older Central pnuematic fittings. I noticed the transistion a few months back when the section was wiped clean. The newer stuff is just as good as the old, and some even better.

The new regulator that has the 2 female inputs that is shown trumps the older stlye. Sometimes the swival side of the older regulator was a nightmare to stop air from escaping.

The newer stlye allows you to add a "close nipple" to the ends to let it except male or female fittings. Depending on your project I perfer these to the older stlye. These work the same as the HLVP air regulators. These were also made to replace your compressor gauge on the manifold when they fail.
