Last year, I made a few dolls (ghost/bride doll, vampire babydoll w/ a bottle of blood, and a gory doll with a broken leg) and placed them on a bookshelf. But it needed something more. So I altered and added some toys from my daycare:Noooo, my kids did not see the display.
-alphabet blocks spelling out "help me"
-stuffed dog chewing on a bloody bone
-Halloween teddy bear with the stuffing coming out
-cookie jar filled with fake chocolate chip cookies and roaches
-alligator with a bloody finger
and I bought the Jill-in-the-Box from Walgreens.
I would like to make a whole display this year but need ideas. I was thinking of taking a knob puzzle and replacing the knobs with skulls. Can anyone help with some scary, creepy or spooky toy ideas?

I'm a little slow with ideas at the moment but you could always add a few zombie babies to the mix. Perhaps a playground if you have space. There was a thread quite some time ago about ideas for a playground.
Perhaps if you search for that thread there may be ideas for you.
How about some evil childrens characters.....an Evil Santa, an evil easter bunny, tooth fairy... cracked humpty dumpty looking for revenge?
You could also ask ihauntu to lend you his Scarousel if he finishes in time to ship it to you..When storage is a concearn, put your monster props under the kids beds.

I remember seeing last year that someone on the board had rigged up a bookshelf to tilt (almost imperceptibly) so that a ball appeared to be rolling back and forth without any visible cause.
Similarly, you could rig a rocking horse to rock back and forth by itself.Last edited by Saruman of Many Colours; 07-19-2011 at 12:53 PM. Reason: To add.

Gemmt has mini Jason, Freddy, and Michael Myers. They had a mini Chucky, all of thedse talk and look tow like. McFarlane Toys makes Twisted Christmas and Twisted Fairy Tales, which are demented fairy tale and Christmas icons, Add a few headless Barbie and G.I Joes. Get a lifesize talking or regular Chucky doll. I can send you a list of songs to loop.

I did a cool display where I bought a babydoll at the thrift store, painted the face dead looking, bought a ride on childs toy and painted that dead looking also and had it in my yard. I also had a baby cradle painted black with a dead baby in it, decorated with white veil material, with dead looking toys. I know its alot of DEAD!!

You could also do a nursery scene with a skeleton mother holding a skeleton baby with it decorated with toys and baby stuff

What about having a board game like Scrabble laid out on a table? Dirty it up a bit and have the words on it say "Murder" or "Death" or "Blood" and other macabre words like that.
