My first attempt at a Toe Pincher Coffin

My budget is tight and I finally got into the mood of building something. I had scrap foam laying around and this is what I came up with.

The end is slanted because what I plan to do is have a piece of plywood cut into a rectangle, paint it black and then pile grass cuttings around the edge so it looks like a grave. I will then have my "Old Man Joe" grave digger prop "lifting" the coffin out of the hole.

This is a closeup of the "wood grain" that I put on it.

I havnt fully completed it and I dont have a bottom on it yet because I may convert it into a fog chiller or a place to hide wiring.

    Hope it works out
We dont need a body bag, we need a bucket.............and a strainer.

NICE! Awsome detailing with wood grain. Is the wood grain carved into the foam and then hand painted? If carved what did you use to carve it?

I drew lines down it first to mark the planks as a guide then I used a very large nail to scribe down the lines. I then used whatever I had handy that had a sharper, finer point and did the wavy lines, which happened to be a smaller sharper nail. I then used a dremel, being careful not to go down to deep to make some of the plank ends. The reason I did that was because when I tried to go across the "grain" of the foam (didnt realize that there was a grain) with my sharp nail it started to rip the foam. I used a scalpel to make some holes and splintered areas and just popped out the pieces.

I then painted the whole thing black and made sure I got down into the grooves. I then got a sponge and basically dry sponged the surface until I got what I wanted.

I followed the instructions on a website I had found but the link is on my home computer.
