Hello dear friends! I ned your help! I am about to purchase the materials for my haunt walls but I'm torn. WHAT DO I BUY??? I have only thought about buying plywood/osb/etc because that's what they had at all of the pro haunts I worked at in the past but a lot of you use other materials. I'll tell you my plans (long/short term) and maybe you can help me.
I need the haunt walls to stand up to running people who also slam into walls, hold drop panels, can have holes cut in it for windows, fireplaces, etc and still be sturdy, can hang thins on it like heavy skeletons, store for a long time.

Please let me know as I would like to start purchasing the materials next week and I value this forum's expert advice!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I already pay for storage for my haunt props and stuff so space is not a problem.

I would use plywood. That's my 2 cents.

If you have the space and weight isn't an issue then I'd go ahead and do the haunt panels the ways the pros do it. I make mine out of landscape fabric because they need to be portable (thus lightweight) and thin so they can be stacked up.

Ran across this video that Ghost Ride Productions made showing how to make some fairly thin wood haunt panels made of luan in 1:40 seconds (!). Looks like a good comprimise between what I use and what the pros use:
