My thoughts exactly. For my Frank I was hoping to get him to say something like "Friennnd" as he lifts his arm holding a daisy. .

Yes, I would buy all of the animated classic lifesize monsters in a heartbeat but ONLY if they look like the original characters and not some cheap imitation. It would be worth the additional money that Spirit Halloween would need for the licenses to get it done correctly.

We discuss the classic monster likenesses alot over at the Universal Monster Army forum and the makers of these products have little say in the end on whether the figure resembles the actor; That is all in Universal's hands and in many cases artists have shown their initial sculpts, dead on likenesses of the actors in make up mind you, as opposed to what comes out as the final product! Some examples I can think of are the Toy Island figures and the recent Frankenstein model from Moebius! The classic monsters and their human counterparts enjoyed a great run in the late 90's/early 00's of screen accurate products but it seems that Universal wants to steer back towards the generic monster images of the 70's/80's!
Also is it just me or does this Frankenstein sound more like Peter Boyle as Young Frankenstein than it does Boris Karloff as Frankenstein?!?!

Does anybody else agree that it would be better to have the mouth move will all these Gemmy animatronics rather than making the eyes light in sync with the speech (or in this case grunts)?
I really like how they did the witches in the past — both the full size cauldron stirrer and spirit crystal balls. Something like Frankie deserves the same treatment IMHO.

I agree! I haven't bought any full sized animations for years and sold all of mine for that reason. I still think they are neat but just not very realistic. My whole haunt is based off the illusion of realism and I just can't spend that kind of money on something that is cutsie or not realistic.
I would rather buy a head and hands from Ghostride Productions, build a PVC dummy and still only spend around $150.00 or less and even if I buy the shoes, which I HIGHLY recommend, it still cost less than some of the figures that cost $200 or more
Nobody ever has truly jumped or screamed from any Gemmy I have had but they always get a startle from my zombie doc(Ghostride) or other ghoulies that I have pieced together myself.Last edited by beggars alley; 11-08-2011 at 05:52 AM. Reason: to correct a sausage finger mistake
