I have a chandelier I have been distressing and would like to add some cobwebs. I have seen great results with the web shooters but unfortunately have no air compressor. Has anyone made something like it with cans of compressed air like for electronic cleaning? Any help would be appreciated.

There's a drill attachment 'cobweb spinner' that you can make/buy as well. (It's essentially a fan blade with a tin can on the front, a couple holes poked in the can) It uses a 'special fluid', but a lot of folks use rubber cement in it as well. I personally think they do a more realistic job, but the downside being they are not quite as visible from afar, OR take more time to make visible. (so I actually use the 2 methods in combination)

I look up that idea and thanks for the suggestion.

I built one of those drill-driven web slingers. Worked okay, but don't use a plastic container! The solvent in the rubber cement is not plastic friendly. The container became real soft, real quick, and in short order it started wobbling wildly...pulled off the mounting screw...and what happened next was far from pretty. Those small metal cans, like the kind that PVC cement comes in, work excellent. The webs looked good, but they don't hold up very well. Especially outdoors.
Chivalry is NOT dead...but I'm working on it.
