I would like to use this for animating my prop left and right torso movement. Attached is the jpeg on the specs and also a link to picture. The encoder has a TTL/signal wire, V, and G. How should I wire this to work with a servo controller like BOC? Do I need a motor controller? Can I use an H-Bridge like Lynx motion has if I need one ?
Thank you

What do you want to do exactly. –

Give some more info please.
Are you looking to make these motors respond like servos?

Yes, I would like to use it with my BOC servo controller

Not the same as a servo. –

Servo's provide feedback to the servo controller via a POT. So the servo controller is responding to variable resistance which results in variable voltage. Your motor has an encoder. Not the same thing. An encoder provides pulses of +5 volts. So to have the servo controller control this motor, you would need to adapt something I believe. Like a dummy servo to provide position feedback and a H bridge to power the motor.
One of our members made a super powerful servo with a wiper motor some time back. If I can find the discussion I will post it for you.

If you're only wanting a left -right movement you could just use 2 limit switches and a relay. The limit switch would determine where the prop is and the relay would change polarity to rotate the oppisite direction. You would also need another switch to make sure the motor is stopped before it rotates in the oppisite direction.........Just a thought........

You know I like your thinking I believe it may be doable. Would this above link work with the application I intend to use it for? I would like to control it with a BOC servo controller. The relay allows for PWM control so I assume if I want to make it turn off on que using VSA it should not be a problem. My animation is a Bucky skull with top hat dressed in Victorian era outfit holding out a lantern with it's right arm extended turning it's torso left and right during ambient play then when it is triggered for the routine it will either turn off, turn left or right however I have it programmed for the routine.http://www.servocity.com/assets/imag...age_Banner.jpg
