Hello everyone...
I have seen several props with fake steam pipes with large flanges on them with bolts. Does anyone know where to get these flanges? I assume they are PVC but the few I have seen are pretty expensive. Has anyone bought something like this or made one? Any thoughts??

Pretty sure Edge Designs & Theme Decor makes them. Those flanges you were talking about aren't pictured in the link here but gives a sample of the work they do. I'd give them a call: https://edgedesignsonline.com/Resin_Caste.php

Terra,
That might work! I will call them today. Thanks!
Caretaker,
I actually looked at those. I really wanted something larger...like an 8 inch diameter opening for liquid to come spewing out. Found some real ones online but they were a couple of hundred dollars. Thought I could possibly make one out of wood and foam if nothing else.Whispers in the Park

So this is what I came up with...I made my own. I think it turned out pretty good. I am going to be applying a faux rust finish on this...

No idea what you're making but I like the look of it. Very realistic looking metal effect - what are you going to use to rust it?

Phil-the-fear
I am going to use Brutal Rust...Just purchased it. I am excited to see how well it works.
I am building a large meat grinder..I got the inspiration from Devil's Chariot's "Grinder Creep". The gears on the side move using a wiper motor and I have a Shiatsu massager in the top that legs will be atttached to. The "ground up meat" will be coming out of the flange. I also have a small pump to have "blood" coming out of the flange also..And if that isn't ambitious enough. I have a skeleton with a 3-axis skull that will be feeding the body into the grinder..lots of work to still do!Whispers in the Park

Crikey that IS ambitious!!
It's looking really good and a new idea that I haven't seen yet. Can't wait to see the finished prop! Keep us posted with pics/vid.'Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few.’ Winston Churchill - Battle of Britain 1940.
