As you can tell from the pics of my Haunts over the years, I use Scene Setters Liberally to help make the atmosphere of different parts of the haunt. Last year there wasn't much new from Scene Setters, but this year there's already at least one new wall set. Looks pretty cool but I'm not sure if I can work it into my haunt. It does look very compatible with several of the newer props we are seeing.
Description:
Includes (2) Room Rolls, one for the top half of the wall and one for the bottom half.
Each Room Roll measures approximately 4' high x 20' wide.

Not shocking that they did a zombie themed setter. I love using them

BTW, a while back, someone here on HF was asking me where they could the "Castle" rock siding that I use on the outside of our home haunt. Because it was "low" Halloween season, when I did a search, I couldn't find any anywhere. Spirit is now showing it on their site and I suspect it can be found in other places. This is a pattern that Scene Setters has had for many years and will probably always be in demand.
Remember, if you use it outside, 3M spray to 4 mil plastic from Home Depot or it will shread with the slightest breeze. Please check my 2011 Haunt album here on HF. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ween-2011.html

I love scene setters.I use the castle look on my mausolum. It has lasted 3 years outside all year long.I stapled mine on top of black plastic and thru to the plywood.
I have been debating about a beach scene for my pirates this year.I found a scene setter type roll at shindigz on sale for 14.99.
I figure for the price I would try it.
My other plan which may work I am testing it would be time consuming.Mixing paint (beige)-sand and glue and paint plastic with a light dusting of sand on top.Like I said really time consuming and don't know if the rain will ruin it.I have my test project outside in the rain now.So I will know soon if it's a bust or not.

We get at least one Santa Ana Windstorm during the building of the Haunt every year - like clockwork. For us, using staples only, would result in the wind ripping it off and we'd wake in the morning to see just the black plastic - if that.
We use a mid level 3m spray adhesive and "hang" the Scene Setters like wall paper, on both sides of the 4 or 6 mil plastic. We use our pnuematic stappler to tack the plastic sandwich to the 2 x 4 framing of our structure. We also paint sprikler pipe with rustolium brown primer to look like rusty metal pipe, slip it over rebar at the bottom of the inside of the wall and screw the other end to the 2 x 4 at the top of the wall. This prevents the wind (30-50 MPH gusts) from shearing off the plastic at the edge of the 2x4.
That happened our first year. We came outside in the morning and at first I thought the walls were gone. The wind was so strong that they had were not even flapping, just straight out parrallel to the ground, still attached to the top 2x4. The side staples had just ripped out, bottom sheared off. That was the Scene Setters mounted to the 4 mil black plastic, but no vertical PCV support. The next year my son had the idea about the PVC pipe and we haven't had any plastic issues since - about 7 or 8 years now. Please check my 2011 Haunt album here on HF. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ween-2011.html

Ha! When my son was in his early teens, he wanted to paint his bedroom black - closet door AND FURNITURE!! We said "NO!!" Imagine trying to paint any color over that black! ... not to mention having to refinish black painted Oak furniture!!
If you let him pin it up, later you can pull it down and fill the pin holes pretty easily. I wouldn't let him glue it up though. Please check my 2011 Haunt album here on HF. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ween-2011.html

Halloween 71,
We didn't use a scene setter for the xmas display but, we did a lighted palm tree, fold out lawn chair, side table with corona for a xmas scene in our front yard in the middle of the snow. Would be cool for your pirates or skeleton in the chair.
